Better Photography magazine isn't just full of inspirational photography, although we do have some of the best photographers from around the world in every issue. Rather, Better Photography magazine is all about showing you how to improve your own photography - so you can take better pictures.
We do this in a number of ways: by showing you inspirational work, by explaining how images were created step-by-step, and by getting inside the heads of professional photographers to really understand what was going on. As you've probably worked out by now, photography isn't just about technique, it's about ideas and imagination.
Each issue of Better Photography magazine is more like a book than a magazine, with 100 pages overflowing with great content. The hardcopy version is perfect bound and printed on high quality paper, so it's something you will want to keep. The online version has the same content, but it is presented as Adobe Reader (Acrobat) files. This means you can download the articles and read them on your computer, your iPad or even on your mobile phone (but the small screen will make it a little challenging.
Better Photography is a quarterly publication, so there's plenty of time to devour the contents and enjoy the articles. We aim to cover all areas in each issue, from introductory articles that will improve your camera skills, to information and advice for photographers wanting to earn an income. We cover the latest equipment releases (but we're not an indepth equipment review magazine - we'll leave this to other publications and websites), have a regular crew of expert writers, and interviews with successful photographers. Whether you're a novice or a professional, there's lots to engage and enthuse you.
With so much information available on the internet, there is a real need emerging for a guiding hand. Google can take you anywhere you wish, but you have to think about it first. In comparison, an edited magazine presents you with a series of new ideas, techniques and concepts. They have been carefully considered to give your photography the direction it needs to progress. A subscription can be informative, entertaining and challenging!
However, the only way you'll know if a magazine is of interest is to try it. Click on the article pages here to open some sample articles. Then, if you like what you see and you'd like to subscribe, click here for more details.
