Roby Lazar invites us to understand and consider an alternative form of image creation. Will AI become a significant part of the progressive evolution in our photographic journey?
"With the evolution and acceptance of many technological innovations in the field of photography, the advancement of AI, a relatively new method of creating an advanced and commercially viable image using computer-based algorithms, can be a challenge for many of us to accept and use in our own photography.
"As I understand AI, this computer-based process does not use light to create an image, but rather its algorithms can be based purely on words. As a result, photographers are questioning whether the photos created by AI are the result of a true photographic process.
"However, there is also a growing group of supporters and practitioners who are in favour of this new union of image creation technology with what may be regarded as traditional, conventional photographic practice and who can understand and see the possibilities for new ways to further extend the photographer’s creativity."
