I'm not one for style over function when it comes to cameras, but then again, I do appreciate a beautifully designed piece of equipment and enjoy using it!

The new Fujifilm X-E5 is certainly stylish! It is lightweight and compact, weighing approximately 445g, equipped with a back-illuminated 40.2 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and the X Processor 5 high-speed image processing engine. The X-E5 is also the first in the X camera series to feature a powerful five-axis in-body stabilisation (IBIS) mechanism offering up to 7.0 stops in the centre of the image and 6.0 stops at the periphery of the frame - so as long as your subject isn't moving, you've a good chance of freezing the action!

The X-E5 features a top plate crafted from a single piece of machined aluminium. By combining sharp, flat edges with carefully curved surfaces, the top plate delivers both a smooth metallic texture and plenty of rigidity, offering a premium feel when holding the camera.  And inside, a new “Classic Display” mode provides a clean viewfinder image with key information at the  bottom of the frame.

Other features include a Film Simulation dial with three customisable recipes for working straight out of camera, and videographers can capture 6.2K/30p, 4K/60p, 1080/240p movies and 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording. RRP: $2,699.
