Head On has just launched the WA Life Photo Awards, celebrating powerful images that capture life in Western Australia. Photos must be taken in Western Australia.

All styles and eras welcome – street, portrait, landscape, conceptual; we're looking for images that go beyond the postcard and capture the spirit of the West.

Prizes & exhibitions

Overall winner: $1,500 cash
Youth winner (Under 25): $500 Camera Electronic voucher
Two runners-up: $500 Camera Electronic voucher each

15 finalists: work professionally printed, exhibited during Head On Photo Festival 2026: Perth (Feb) and Sydney (Nov), then online after the festival

Entry fee: $20 General | $10 Youth (Under 25)

Entries close: Sunday 11 January 2026, 11:59pm (Perth time)

Head On Photo Festival Perth launches 31 January 2026 and runs 1 February – 1 March 2026 with exhibitions, and events across the City of Perth.
