If you’ve never been to Antarctica, then it’s not a question of if, rather of when. And if you’re looking for an excuse to return to Antarctica - to something even more epic, more adventurous, more amazing, then Crossing the 7th Continent from Dunedin in New Zealand, tracing the Antarctic continent half way around the world, visiting the sensational Peninsula and ending up in Ushuaia... Need we say more? What a voyage! What an experience!
Whether you’ve been to Antarctica before or not, this is an in-depth experience you will never forget. It’s a 33-day voyage with Aurora Expeditions on the Greg Mortiner, but look at the territory you’ll cover and the wonderful ship life you’ll experience. You may have friends who have been to Antaractica, but very few will have followed this voyage and all it has to offer.
So, what makes it different? We begin by exploring the sub-Antarctic islands below New Zealand on our way south to the infamous Cape Adare and the Ross Sea. From here we’ll hug the icy coast through the Amundsen and Bellingshausen Seas, past Peter I Island and up to famous Peninsula locations like Paradise Bay and the Lemaire Channel. We’ll navigate through gleaming pack ice alive with Weddell and Leopard seals, Adélie and Emperor penguins and whales feeding in fathomless leads. Imagine capturing all this with your camera.
And imagine having two of the world’s leading photographers to help you! Peter Eastway is joined by Tony Hewitt and will be on hand to provide personal assistance. There are a number of sea days on this voyage and they are perfect for being emersed in photography and post-production.
