Up Close In The Falkland Islands

Up Close In The Falkland Islands

Dolphin Gull, Saunders Island, Falkland IslandsFujifilm X-H2S, 150-600mm, 1/2000 second @ f8, ISO 800 As amazing as a voyage to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica is, there has always been a part of me that wanted to stay behind just a little longer on the Falklands. One of the reasons I enjoy visiting Stanley, the capital of the Falklands, can be found in the little blue cafe a hundred metres from the wharf. Inside I can purchase not only a rich hot chocolate, but a large,...

Fujifilm's Cameras Are Now Hidden!

Cap Carter at HIDDEN. Photograph by Greg Cromie. Fujifilm Australia recently partnered with Sydney-based artist Cap Carter for a sold-out immersive songwriting event, HIDDEN. This collaboration not only showcased Cap's creative process, but also highlighted the impressive capabilities of Fujifilm's latest cameras and captures the intersection of music and cutting-edge photography. While Cap might not be the first choice of entertainment for many of our readers, what we found interesting was...

What Do You Do When Another Photographer Has Already Shown Your Shot?

Derby Aerial, Western AustraliaPhase One XF IQ4 150MP, Schneider Kreuznach 110mm, 1/2000 second @ f 4, ISO 50 Tony Hewitt has a similar photograph to this on his Instagram feed. So what do you do when you're on a workshop and someone else takes a photo of the same subject? Is it okay to show your version and still call it yours?  On our Derby Aerial Photography Workshop, Tony and I were in separate helicopters, leading our photographers around the vast mud flats and looking for interesting...

Middlehurst Phase One Experience 14-20 August 2024 AU$14,995

A special medium format experience with Phase One.
$ 995.00

Phase One, Peter Eastway and Tony Hewitt are combining resources to offer a special edition of the Middlehurst Art Photography workshop, with a special emphasis on medium format photography and the Phase One system.

Please note, the first week is sold out, so this is the only week left for 2024. However, as Peter and Tony personalise the experience for each photographer, you can happily attend the Phase One week and the experience for you will be exactly the same as if you attended the first week.

Middlehurst is a high end photography retreat and experience for photographers who want to better understand how to use their camera and are ready to learn about the philosophy and aesthetics of art photography and image-making.

The Phase One Middlehurst Art Photography Experience is limited to eight participants. You don’t have to own a Phase One camera because you’ll be given the opportunity to shoot with one provided by Phase One. And you’ll get to edit the images and discover exactly why Phase One and Middlehurst are great matches in photography.

In all other respects, this will be the same amazing program Peter and Tony have been presenting for the past 9 years.

It is likely to be cold outside and the weather is variable, exactly what we want. However, the lodgings are wonderful! Built in 2019, the new ’Quarters’ feature private rooms and modern shared bathrooms. And best of all, we have our own chef - the food is nothing short of stellar!

So, the location is five stars. Food six stars! Lodgings are incredibly comfortable and now the scene is set for you to not only take some great photographs, but receive world-class instruction from two Phase One ambassadors.

If you’re interested, please read on! But don’t delay - places book up very quickly.
