After their Castello Ceconi exhibition in Northern Italy, titled No Place | No TIme, Tony Hewitt and Peter Eastway have established themselves as two of the world’s leading aerial art photographers. Their large format abstracts have enthralled European audiences, many of whom asked if they were paintings, not photographs!

Join Tony and Peter on an in-depth aerial photography workshop. It is similar in design to their successful Shark Bay and Broome aerial photography workshops, but this time in two of their favourite northern locations - the Ragged Ranges with its bright red domed rocks and furroughed foregroud hills, and Wyndham’s massive tidal flats with its wonderful tree shapes and the massive, meandering King River. Plus, we’ll investigate another location, not shared with their students before, but showing huge potential.

For this workshop, there are just four students, so plenty of opportunity to discuss and research the different styles and approaches each teacher offers.

We will also work with two helicopters, meaning Tony or Peter will be there on every flight with you, guiding the pilot to the best locations and helping you learn the craft of locating subjects from the air.

Great aerial abstracts begin with recognising the right subject matter, so we’ll spend more time above the Kimberley landscape, identifying and capturing our raw ingredients.

There are very few if any photographers in the world who can match the post-production skills the duo teach for aerial photography. The images you see in this brochure didn’t just come out of the camera. They weren’t just found by looking down. Rather, the camera was the beginning of a series of steps that includes extensive and thoughtful post-production – and this is the key element of what they will teach in the Kimberley.

In summary, this in depth workshop is designed to show you exactly what Tony and Peter do, how they locate their subjects, take the photos and process the final images. There are no secrets – they share everything they know!
